%X Abstract The problem whether a Tsunami can give rise to an ionospheric disturbance of detectable magnitude is investigated theoretically assuming the symmetric waveform of the Tsunami and the simple (isothermal, static and unperturbed)conditions of the atmosphere. Results indicate that the amplitude of ionospheric disturbances created by a tsunami is of the order of magnitude to be detectable experimentally. Resumo O problema se um tsunami pode dar origem a uma perturbação da ionosfera de magnitude detectável é investigada teoricamente assumir a forma de onda simétrica do Tsunami eo simples (isotérmico, estáticos e não perturbados) condições da atmosfera. Os resultados indicam que a amplitude das perturbações ionosféricas criada por um tsunami é da ordem de grandeza de ser detectável experimentalmente.
