Constraints from the structure and control disciplines are imposed on the integrated optimization process with the aim of obtaining the structure's minimum weight and the optimum control performance. The result demonstrates the feasibility to solve the problem by taking into account combined constraints from the separate disciplines, structures and control. Further, the resulting minimum structural weight represents a aving of about 20 with respect to the weight of the initial given structure while the control design accomplishes the objectives of suppressing and controlling the structural vibration and attitude without violation of the control damping factor imposed on the problem. %8 Nov. %N 10 %@secondarydate 20020912 %T Structural and control optimization of a space structure subjected to the gravity-gradient torque %@secondarytype PRE PI %K ENGENHARIA E TECNOLOGIA ESPACIAL, torque, design analysis, space structure, design. %@usergroup administrator %@usergroup banon %@usergroup jefferson %@group DMC-INPE-MCT-BR %@group Howard Univ, Dept Mech Engn, Washington, DC 20059 USA %@group Univ Vale Paraiba, UNIVAP, BR-12241000 Sao Jose Dos Campos, SP, Braz %@secondarykey INPE-9131 -PRE/4804 %F 10060 %@issn 0094-5765 %2 sid.inpe.br/iris@1905/2005/08.03.22.05.31 %B Acta Astronautica %P 673-681 %4 sid.inpe.br/iris@1905/2005/08.03.22.05 %@documentstage not transferred %D 2002 %V 51 %A Fonseca, Ijar Milagre, %A Bainum, Peter M., %A Lourenção, Paulo Tadeu Melo, %@dissemination WEBSCI; PORTALCAPES; COMPENDEX. %@area ETES
